A little something about me…

Family

I am the proud father of two daughters, ages 16 and 13, and a grateful husband to my wife of 20 years. My wife, Elizabeth, is a public school special education teacher. In addition to other accomplishments, I am proud to write that she has been awarded the SEPTA Teacher of the Year award, showing that she not only loves her job but also that others agree with me that she is very good at it.

Suburban Utopia 1959

My family moved to West Babylon from the Bronx in 1959. Having sold his Austin Healey for $500, my grandfather finally had enough money for a down payment on a new $13,500 home. While it looks much different today, and the property taxes are about as much as its original cost, this is the same home where my wife and I decided to start our family.

The First Generation 1968

My mom graduated from the West Babylon School District in 1968. My uncle–four years younger than my mom–would also graduate from the district in 1972. I was a graduate of the West Babylon class of 1992. I’m proud to mention that my daughters will be the third generation of my family to graduate from the school district.

Today

As a trustee on the West Babylon School Board and active community member, my involvement continues to be centered around the belief that the most significant impact we can have is to think locally and act locally. With this premise in mind, I ran for school board trustee in 2019 because I believe that the quality of our school district’s education impacts more than our children’s education. It affects the neighbors that move in next to you, the value of your home, and the community’s prosperity as a whole.
